Contact a Counselor - Course Request Changes

SHS Families and Students,

Below is important information about how to contact a counselor over the summer and the timeline for completing course request changes for the 25-26 school year.

 

Please know that counselors will not be accessing their individual emails during the summer.

·      To speak with someone by phone, please call 847.755.4630 and a counselor on duty  will return the call in the order in which they are received

 

We will be on a schedule change freeze starting Friday, July 18, 2025. Schedule change requests after Friday, July 18th will not be considered or responded to.

June 2 - July 17	2025 summer school in session	A counselor will be on duty to speak with families/students.  Call 847-755-4630 and ask for the counselor on duty.
August 11 and 12 (1st and 2nd day of school)	25-26 school year starts	Your counselor will be in the hallway outside of Student Services and have walk-in availability on the first and 2nd day of school to assist with necessary change requests.
Starting August 13	Students can begin to schedule an appointment with their counselor by using the Counselor Appointment icon on their iPad or this link.

 

Convenience change requests will not be considered. Please do not request to have the order of classes adjusted, teachers changed, or a change in a lunch period.

 

Here are some important things to remember:

·      Check your course requests in MAIA Learning for accuracy prior to July 18, 2025

Student course requests are visible on MAIA Learning: 

1.   Login to MAIA Learning: https://app.maialearning.com/v3/user-login 

a.   Use your school Google credentials 

2.   Click on “Academics” 

3.   Once you click on the “Academics” tab you will see the Academic Planner

4.   Any changes made in Infinite Campus will be reflected the next day

·      All schedules are TENTATIVE and are subject to change until the first day of each semester of the 2025-26 school year.

·      You have up to the first 5 school days each semester to request a new elective.

·      You have the first 25 school days to drop a class and add a study hall without the dropped course appearing on your transcript.
