November 2024 Senior of the Month

Congratulations to Eli Rees for being announced as November 2024 Senior of the Month.

We are pleased to announce that Eli has been named the November Senior of the Month. During his time at Schaumburg High School, Eli has proven to be a leader who demonstrates resilience, passion, and excellence.

Eli has shown incredible resilience during his time at Schaumburg High School. Eli works hard to overcome the challenges posed by his hearing loss. Whether he is asking for extra help, researching solutions, or advocating for himself, Eli has shown an ability not only to achieve but also to excel with a disability that can make the classroom environment difficult.

Eli’s teachers praise his excellence in the classroom. His enthusiasm for his classes is contagious: he engages his peers with humor and creativity during presentations, speeches, and discussions. From presentations about his favorite bands to discussions on the effects of social media on teens, Eli’s voice in the classroom captures his peers’ attention. Eli prides himself in being able to “lock in DURING school” and complete his tasks. All this hard work in the classroom has led to him being named an AP Scholar with Honors and a member of the Honor Roll.

As someone who hopes to major in programming and have a career as a game developer, Eli has challenged himself with rigorous Computer Science and Mathematics courses. His teachers say that as a programmer he always works to be the best. This drive has led him to have exceptional programming skills, which he will no doubt use in the future.

Eli prides himself on his leadership abilities. His teachers say that his integrity makes him always try to do what is right. He is a natural leader in group projects and has used his leadership inside and outside of the school. He is a member of NHS, the vice president of the Sign Language Club, and a member of the football team for three years. He was named to this year’s Rose Arbor Court. He has also volunteered in the community with a local speech and language pathologist.
