May 2025 Senior of the Month

Congratulations to Emilia Czech for being announced as May 2025 Senior of the Month.

We are pleased to announce that Emilia Czech has been named the May Senior of the Month. Emilia started her freshman year strong by making both the varsity swimming and water polo teams. Since then, she has pushed herself academically through Advanced Placement courses, while staying actively involved in athletics and extracurricular activities at SHS.

Emilia is a quiet thinker with a sharp mind. Within the classroom she consistently demonstrates wisdom, maturity, and a quiet confidence. She combines an incredible dedication to her success with an impressive work ethic. One of her teachers stated, “Emilia consistently demonstrates dedication and a strong work ethic in school. Her thoughtful approach to problem-solving and steady engagement in class are truly commendable.” Emilia is a calm and a consistent presence in the classroom that translates to helping others around her succeed. Emilia has been recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, and has been named as both an Academic Scholar and an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Outside of the classroom Emilia immersed herself in activities at SHS. She was a member of varsity swimming, varsity water polo, marching band and wind symphony all four years. She also became a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team, the District 211 Honors Band, National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society and a Student Ambassador. She is also a member of the Polish American Student Association and was honored as a member of the ILMEA District 7 Band.

Next year, Emilia plans on attending Notre Dame University and majoring in chemical engineering. We appreciate the ways Emilia has contributed to our school community. We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished during her four years at SHS. We wish her the best of luck in her future.
