Tier 1 – Universal Supports
These supports are available to every student and provide the foundation for success at Schaumburg High School.
Academic Tutoring
Students have access to free academic tutoring throughout the school day in Math, Science, and English.
Tutoring is available in the Media Center during Periods 1–8 and is staffed by certified teachers who provide individualized academic assistance.
Students wishing to attend tutoring during a class period are encouraged to obtain a pass from their classroom teacher in advance. Students may also sign up for Quiet Study during their lunch period, providing access to tutoring and additional academic resources.
Multilingual Tutoring
Multilingual Tutoring is offered Monday through Thursday from 3:00–4:00 p.m. in Room 259 and is designed to provide additional academic support for multilingual learners across all content areas.
Teachers and Teaching Assistants rotate through multiple subject areas to provide individualized assistance, and the schedule is adjusted whenever possible to meet the instructional needs of participating students.
While this program is specifically designed to support our multilingual learners, all students are welcome to attend. The instructional strategies, content support, and access to teachers provide valuable academic assistance for any student seeking additional help with coursework or developing stronger learning skills.
