Our Teaching Information-Processing Skills (TIPS) initiative is designed to expose students to six essential comprehension skills across all content areas. Students are taught the skills in their English and/or Reading Strategies classes and then the skills are reinforced in other content area classes or through targeted interventions. Of particular importance are the Summarizing and Inferring skill strands, which are the most tested skills in the EXPLORE/PLAN/ACT (EPAS) assessment series.
