    Cross Country Runner, Madison Marasco beat the home-course school Tuesday, September 19, with a record with a 3.1 mile time of 18 minutes and 18 seconds! Congratulations Maddie & the Girls’ Cross Country Team!

    SHS Class Spirit Competition Totals for September 19

    We’ve got spirit, how about you? The results are in for the class spirit competition.

    5th place, Staff with 72pts
    4th place, Juniors with 159 pts
    3rd place, Sophomores with 174 pts
    and in 1st place, Freshmen with with 255 pts.

    The Powder Puff points have been added in. Keep dressing up each day to earn your class points. Remember you can also earn points by adding money into your class’ bin. Each dollar counts as a point and put pennies in other class’ bins to subtract their points.


    CLASS of 2017 – Your Senior Yearbook has arrived!!

    CLASS OF 2017, your senior year yearbook has arrived! Yearbooks will be distributed at the Homecoming game THIS Friday, September 22. There will be a yearbook table set up in front of the ticket booth. Yearbooks can also be picked up at the Cashier’s Office; make sure to bring an ID. If you did not purchase a yearbook, you may still do so. The cost of the book is $48. Yearbooks will be available to purchase at the Cashier’s Office. They will also be for sale at the Homecoming game for a promotional price of $45. Cash and checks made out to SHS will be accepted. #WeAreSHS

    Poetry Open Mic – September 21

    Looking for a place to share your poetry? Looking for a place to hear personal stories? Come on out to the first Poetry Open Mic of the year! Meet us at Siegie’s Corner in the Media Center after school on Thursday for some amazing spoken word. You won’t be disappointed, and may just be inspired! See you there!

    Please donate to our Hurricane Relief Fund during Homecoming Week. There will be a giant Bake Sale Wednesday, September 20, and a Saxon Obstacle Course to test your skill. Get more details from your PE teacher.

    Blessings in a Backpack Donations

    The Student Athlete Leadership Team will be collecting donations for Blessings in a Backpack during the Homecoming Soccer and Football games on Friday, September 22,  from 4:30-8:00 p.m. .  Please bring non-perishable food items to either entrance to the stadium between those times to help your fellow Saxons. Food items must be unopened and should not be expired.

    Music Open Mic – September 20

    Hey musicians of all types: the first Music Open Mic of the year is this coming Wednesday, September 20. Come up to Siegie’s Corner after school to sing, play, or listen. Whether you’re a karaoke expert, a beginning pianist, or master guitarist, we want to hear you perform in a welcoming environment. All skill levels are welcomed, and we have instruments you can use.     Parking Spaces Information

    All students should park in the West and Northwest parking lots.  Parking spaces at the front of the building are for staff members only.  If you park anywhere other than the student designated areas, you may be ticketed or towed.

    SHS Offering FREE SAT Test Preparation class – Sign up now

    SHS is offering a free SAT Test Preparation class.

    The class will include 16 one hour sessions, that will cover:

    • All four SAT Test sections: Reading Test, Writing and Language Test, No Calculator Math Test, and Calculator Math Test
    • Test Taking Strategies
    • Test Familiarity
    • Practice Testing Passages
    • Content Specific Instruction
    • Analysis of individual strengths and weaknesses
