    Did you know that 1 out of every 5 teens is targeted for bullying? October is National Bullying Prevention Month. National Bullying Prevention Month is a nationwide campaign founded in 2006 by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.

    Congratulations SHS Choir

    The SHS Choir is proud to announce that 3 Schaumburg High School Choir members have been selected for the Illinois Music Education Association’s district 7 Choir: Junior Jake Long, and Seniors Olivia Donofrio and Cameron Kidd. These students successfully auditioned into one of the most highly competitive ensembles in the nation and will perform in a concert with other top musicians from the north and northwest suburbs on November 11th at Glenbrook North High School. Congratulations!

    Boys’ Basketball Tryout Information

    Any student interested in Boys’ Basketball tryout information there will be a brief meeting in the main gym Thursday, October 26,at 7:15 a.m. At this time, you will receive your tryout packet and registration information.

    Congratulations Girls’ Cross Country Team!

    Congratulations to the Girls’ Cross Country Team! The Varsity squad finished in 6th place at the IHSA regional meet, which advanced them to the IHSA sectional meet this coming Saturday. Shout out to Madison Marasco for placing First and setting a new personal best time of 16:54, which is also a new course record at Busse Woods!

    AP Resource Room Extended Hours

    Attention all AP Students! The AP Resource Room will be offering extended hours and tutoring from AP teachers every Monday for the remainder of the semester. Visit our Schoology Group page or the school website for more info. There will be additional dates other than Mondays where extended hours and tutoring will be offered as well. See Ms. Boland or Mrs. Casamassimo if you have any questions.

    Energy Star Recognition

    Annually, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the United States Department of Energy (DOE) recognize buildings and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through energy efficiency.  District 211 received notification that all five high schools have earned the EPA’s 2017 Energy Star building recognition. District 211 high schools represent five of only 14 schools in Illinois to receive this designation for 2017.

    Instructions: Poetry, artwork or photos can be submitted through November 30, 2017. All materials must be submitted online at a 12 point Times New Roman (or similar) Word or Google doc.
